I'm a girl that's liked technology from day 1. Mostly interested in the PSVita/PSP scene but I've always modded my stuff when it's possible, that is :)Contact me via DM at @KawaiiAuroraA on Twitter if you have any questions/concerns about my articles or if you have any article requests.

I hope Nintendo does something to prevent this, piracy will hurt the switch’s future releases like a b*tch. I don’t have a great salary, but I can afford every game I want, why can’t people just do things as they are intended? At least pirate users will get banned if trying to go online and that makes me happy.

It’s more than proven that piracy doesn’t hurt sales of games, music or films. It actually makes the opposite effect. And the Switch doesn’t get hurt by piracy in the slightest. Good to know you spend your hard earned cash in all the games you wont, but I also hope you don’t buy many that end up with less than 10 hours played. LOL And the “do as intended” comment? That really makes you seem like a corporate chill. Why don’t you give your wallet to Nintendo already? But yeah, lets ban everyone that plays “pirated” games, even if they bought the original game and are simply trying to preserve their own stuff! It’s people with that kind of mindset that make it difficult to preserve media in the long term… “Digital only” delivery is already a big enemy as it is on preservation, with companies pulling the plug and people losing access to their paid content, but with this kind of mindset, that will really help in the future, for sure…

I have 4 Nintendo switches, one for each household member with an extra that is online only. We use only one legit for online. The rest are modded. I purchase games to play online but most games I own in steam that my family will only play on the switch itself. It is nice not repurchasing 4 copies of games that I already owned. Any major first party is usually still purchased for online play. But the modded consoles allow us to use the games as we please.

Perhaps I am a minority, perhaps you disagree still with our decision but I am very thankful for the modding community which allow us to play how we want to play. If my youngest wants to play BOTW with unlimited stamina/health or if I want to backup our families SSBU progress and disperse it to everyone, it is possible, regardless of which profile we are using on which console.

In short, I’ve still spent 1k-1.5k on entertainment. I think that justifies being able to do what I damn well please.

Paying these guys instead of paying the game makers sounds like a really stupid idea. To use vulnerabilities in a console to play some games you wouldnt be buying anyway is cool, but paying a kind of parasite in-between to do so is totally off imho.
